Color in a small garden

Tough, dry gardens, winter color.  African daisies (Osteospermum) work well in small gardens.   As the name suggests, this species originates from South Africa.  In terms of plant selection this means they work well in Australian conditions.  They will tolerate poor soils, have low water requirements, are great mass ground cover with a little height (half metre).  And, provide a burst of later winter color.  Photo’s courtesy Leonie Rogers.
